In Pursuit of Truth, Goodness and Beauty may we lift our hearts up to Him

“You Who Set the Feast” – Sursum Corda News January 2022

Dear Sursum Corda Mamas–
–you who “set the feast” every day–

I have been reading about the history of Christian hospitality. Can you imagine, in the ancient world, taking in any traveling foreigners at the drop of a hat? Or in a medieval Benedictine community, being required to greet a disheveled homeless person who knocked with a low bow, specific words of welcome, and a foot-washing ceremony? Our foremothers must have endured so many uncomfortable days in the name of Jesus.

Does 2022 feel at all like an unexpected guest knocking at your door? Are you sitting down to dinner with things you never imagined would happen to you? In the name of Jesus, sisters, you are secure. Serve the feast.

Sursum sint corda vestra,
(Up be your hearts),
Heather (for the Board)
